Social Events
Social gatherings such as potlucks, dine-outs, and game nights are crucial to building a sense of community among vegetarians and animal rights advocates on campus. This is important not only to remind people that there are others like them but also to show that vegetarians and vegans are a diverse group of people united by a common cause.
Selected Events
- On Dec. 13, 2005, CAA held a dine out at Galactic Pizza. We had a great turn out and it was a fun and light-hearted event. Galactic offers an amazing array of vegan pizza toppings including gooey soy cheese, mock duck, and organic veggies. In addition to this, Galactic donated 15% of its profits for the evening to CAA!
- On Dec. 9, 2005, CAA had a volunteer appreciation party. We had a wonderful array of vegan food, a picture slideshow of the semester’s accomplishments, and awards and prizes were given out to our awesome volunteers.
- Our 2005 Thanksgiving feast was a huge success. We all stuffed ourselves with mouth-watering vegan pumpkin pie, savory Tofurky, cranberries, and tons of other festive animal-friendly foods. We ended up having 120 guests! The event was so successful that it was featured in the Minnesota Daily.
