Here at CAA, the fall season is already teaming with great events! The first major event of the season is our 5th Annual Vegan Food Showcase, which is on September 18. If you're not familiar with the event, then you are in for a treat! CAA gets food donations and discounts from dozens of different retailers and manufacturers and hosts a massive, all-day food giveaway on the University of Minnesota Minneapolis campus to vegetarian food.
Veg Week is right on the showcase's heels, running from September 30 to October 5. Author Jim Mason will kick the week off, speaking on "The Ethics of What We Eat: Why Our Food Choices Matter". We'll also have a cooking class, a potluck, a film screening, two dineouts, and a tour of a lcocal animal sanctuary.
Also in October is our new Outreach for Animals week. This is is an innovative outreach and fundraising event with the goal of educating the public about farm animals and vegetarianism.
Looking further into the future, watch for information on our annual Vegan Thanksgiving Feast. CAA's annual banquet will be held April 9, 2009 and coordinators are already starting to talk about ideas for next year's Their Lives, Our Voices animal advocacy conference, which will happen sometime between the end of May and middle of June.
As you can see, it's going to be another exciting and eventful year, so stay tuned for updates!
