Their Lives, Our Voices 2010 Wrap-up
The weekend of June 11th - 13th was honored with the third annual Their Lives, Our Voices (TLOV) conference from Compassionate Action for Animals (CAA). The conference gathers animal welfare advocates and activists together for a weekend of networking and learning about the latest news in the animal welfare movement, featuring numerous speakers and workshops for anyone interested. While attendees tend to be current activists, TLOV excludes no one, which makes it unique and offers a welcoming and open atmosphere.
Volunteer of the Month: EG Nelson
EG Nelson grew up and attended college in Wisconsin. She completed her undergrad at UW Madison, but also attended UW Milwaukee and Universidad de Malaga in Spain. She also lived in New York City before moving back to attend the U of M for grad school. Her undergrad majors are Women's Studies, Spanish Language, and LGBT Studies. Her Master's are Public and Nonprofit Management and Leadership, and Policies of Gender and Sexuality.
Grand Old Day a Success
At 4:30 a.m on June 6, two trucks, a U-haul and a Ford Taurus loaded up for Grand Old Day. We had over 30,000 sample of Boca Burgers, Smart Dogs, and Newman O's.
