2007 Annual Review

Your continued commitment has enabled Compassionate Action for Animals to make its mark in the Twin Cities this past year, building a wide community of allies and bringing attention to animal issues. Thanks to our members' concerted efforts, CAA is creating a brighter future for farmed animals.

Here are just some of the highlights from this past year:

  • Made the University of Minnesota the most-leafleted school in the nation, and distributed over 60,000 leaflets around the state—6,500 more than 2006. We visited 35 colleges, 3 high schools, 35 concerts, and 15 festivals.
  • Organized over 20 community-building events, including potlucks, dine-outs, cooking classes, and parties for our volunteers and donors.
  • Received 600 pledges during Veg Week from 600 people committing to be vegetarian or vegan for a week.

We have done so much, and yet we still have so much more to do.

What we've done is possible only because of our volunteers' dedication and our donors' generous financial support. It is through their compassion, and yours, that the billions of suffering farm animals have a voice. It is only through the compassion of people like you that they have a voice.

Thank you for helping us to create respect and justice for animals in our world.

Help us make 2008 even better. Make a tax-deductible contribution to support our crucial work.

Presentation: "Happy Meat: The Truth About 'Organic,' 'Free-Range,' and Other Misleading Food Labels"

Harold Brown, founder of Farm Kind and featured in Peaceable Kingdom, was raised on a family farm in Michigan. The farm produced beef cattle, dairy goats, rabbits, and pigs. In this absorbing presentation, Farmer Brown will discuss the real story behind the labels we see today and reveal the truth about what "free-range," "cage-free," "humanely raised," and "organic" mean for the animals.

This event is sponsored by the Animal Rights Coalition.

Time: Thursday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m.
Location: Normandale Community College, Room C1095, 9700 France Ave. S., Bloomington (Enter at the main entrance on the south side of the college)
