Veg Week 2008 Continues!
Veg Week 2008 Continues!
After a packed presentation last night with standing room only, Jim Mason spoke to over 400 attendees on the origins of our food choices. Our fifth annual Veg Week continues with a vegan potluck, film showing, tour of a sanctuary for rescued chickens, and two dine-outs. Bring your friends and be sure to make it to at least one event!
Check out what's happening in the rest of Veg Week!
Thursday: Vegan Potluck
What better way to celebrate Veg Week and try some great veg food than with a vegan potluck? While some food will be provided, everyone is encouraged to bring a vegan dish (no animal products) to share that serves around five to eight people. Also, it is encouraged, but not necessary, to bring your own plate and silverware. This is a great opportunity to sample dozens of delicious foods, meet cool people from the community, and have fun.
Time: Thursday, October 2, 5:30 p.m.
Location: Coffman

Friday: Film Screening of The Emotional World of Farm Animals
As part of Veg Week, we will be showing the delightful documentary The Emotional World of Farm Animals, followed by free snacks and a question and answer session.
In the documentary, narrator Jefferey Masson, leads viewers through the personal journey he underwent while writing for a forthcoming book. This journey into the sentient, emotional lives of farm animals brings Masson to animal sanctuaries around the country where caregivers and the animals themselves tell their harrowing stories of rescue and escape. Masson delves into the rich ancestry of these curious and intelligent animals and interviews top experts in animal behavior who offer scientific perspectives on these amazing creatures.
