Vegan After Dark this Friday!

Why spend another Friday night at home eating tofu pups by yourself? Come out on the town and get to know other vegans and animal-friendly folks in the Twin Cities!

Join us for a great time at Jasmine 26 -- one of the most outstanding restaurants for vegan dining in Minneapolis. Enjoy a Lychee Blossom Martini or a refreshing Ginger Fizz; alcoholic or non -- whatever your forté is -- Jasmine has you covered. And as far as the food goes, you won't be able to resist the addictive salt and pepper tofu appetizer, or the warm mock duck stuffed crêpes. Jasmine 26 will also be donating 15% of the bill back to CAA!

Come out, connect, and have a good time!

Please RSVP for this event via meetup.com.

Got questions? Please contact our host and coordinator, Chrissy, at chrissy.rishavy@exploreveg.org.

About Vegan After Dark: VAD is a social group just for kicks. Grab yourself a drink, chat with some swell veg heads, and have a little fun. This series of events is open to both the full-fledged vegan and those that may only be vegan "after dark," but you have to be at least 21 years of age. We meet the last Friday of every month at a variety of venues ranging from chic cocktail bars and neighborhood dive bars to parties hosted at CAA volunteers' homes.

Time: Friday, March 27, from 8 p.m. until the party is over!
Location: Jasmine 26 Restaurant and Bar, 8 East 26th St., Minneapolis (located next to the Bad Waitress)

BOCA to Stop Using Eggs by End of 2009!

Compassion Over Killing announced: "In February, 2009, Compassion Over Killing teamed up with Mercy for Animals and the Animal Protection & Rescue League as well as compassionate consumers everywhere to urge BOCA to stop using eggs in its products. We're excited to announce that less than two months after BOCAEggFacts.com was launched, the company announced that it is indeed going to stop using eggs!

A company spokesperson said, '... I am pleased to let you know the BOCA brand will be eliminating eggs in all of its products by the end of this year. We anticipate all BOCA products will be egg free in 2010.'"

Read more about the campaign & contact BOCA to thank the company for making this compassionate decision!
