TLOV 2009 Wrap-Up

In its second year, Compassionate Action for Animals' Their Lives, Our Voices conference proved to be a success and continued to grow. Over 200 people attended from all across the country-everywhere from Montana to Michigan, from North Dakota to Iowa.

The conference, which happened in Minneapolis over the weekend of June 12-14, featured a variety of powerful and inspirational speakers including farm sanctuary pioneer Lorri Bauston, author and activist pattrice jones, motivational speaker and author Victoria Moran, vegan body builder Kenneth Williams, cookbook author Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, and many more. Leaders from various organizations such as Compassion Over Killing and Mercy For Animals as well as regional activists gave nearly 50 presentations throughout the weekend. Participants were able to raise their own voices in several discussion-based sessions including on topics like "How Vegan Is Enough" and "Dealing With Family and Friends"...

Gil's Going Away Party and Potluck

Come celebrate Gil Schwartz's contributions to Compassionate Action for Animals as Director of Volunteer Programs!

Please join us for a potluck and party at the home of Unny Nambudiripad, CAA's development coordinator. Please bring a vegan dish to share.

Gil has accomplished a lot in the nine years he has volunteered and worked for CAA; he has played an integral part in planning and executing Veg Week, our No Battery Eggs campaign, and the Their Lives, Our Voices (TLOV) conference. He has brought a sense of fun, a talent for engaging with volunteers, and a strong work ethic that will be missed by all of us at Compassionate Action for Animals. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Our new Director of Volunteer Programs, Ben Kutschied, will be at the party. Come meet him and join us in toasting Gil for his hard work for the animals!

Time: Friday, July 17 from 7:00-11:55 p.m.
