Vegan After Dark, July 31st

Aloha! Vegan After Dark invites you to a hawaiian shirts and grass skirts house party!

Vegan After Dark is hosting a house party Friday, July 31st at the home of a CAA volunteer. Come celebrate the summer in style. Dress in your favorite coconut bra, bring a friend, and bring your own bottle. Just remember, you don't have to be vegan to hang - you only have to be up for a good time. Who knows, you might get lei'd!

Time: Friday, July 31st from 8:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.
Location: 3827 Johnson St. NE, Colombia Heights, MN 55421.

Monthly Community Meeting, August 3rd

Join the CAA community in discussing our current activities!

Come to our monthly community meeting to hear about opportunities to get involved, or to share some ideas of your own! You don't have to be a student to join in - everyone's invited! We hold community meetings monthly to discuss current and proposed projects and events. If you want to get involved in a project or if you have an idea for one, join us at a meeting!

Time: Monday, August 3rd from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

LANSING - Michigan farmers and animal-rights advocates are fighting over the treatment of farm animals, a conflict that ultimately may be taken to voters.

The farm lobby is backing bipartisan legislation that would put into law the agriculture industry's guidelines for farm animals' health and welfare, and require audits of livestock farms. A 10-member council would review and possibly update animal-care standards at least every five years and local governments would be pre-empted from setting their own rules...
