Vegan After Dark at The Blue Nile

Come celebrate the August blues and hazy nights at CAA's Vegan After Dark at The Blue Nile! Featuring a full bar, ample room to mingle, live music, and Ethiopian and Middle Eastern veg-friendly foods, The Blue Nile has it all!

The Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant opened in 1989 near the corner of Lake Street and Lyndale Avenue in Minneapolis, and was the first Ethiopian restaurant in the Twin Cities. Today, they are the longest running African restaurant in Minnesota and the only one to represent the Oromo people, and they have remained an independent, family-owned establishment.

VAD is a social group just for kicks. Grab yourself a drink, chat with some swell veg heads, and have a little fun. This series of events is open to both the full-fledged vegan and those that may only be vegan "after dark", but you have to be at least 21 years of age. We meet the last Friday of every month at a variety of venues ranging from chic cocktail bars and neighborhood dive bars to parties hosted at CAA volunteers' homes.

Time: Friday, August 28th from 8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Location: The Blue Nile, 2027 E Franklin Ave, Minneapolis

Dunkin' Cruelty Petition

Compassionate Action for Animals is asking you to join Compassion Over Killing's campaign to contact Dunkin' Donuts to urge the company to stop using eggs and dairy in its donuts as well as offer vegan menu items.

Dunkin' Donuts is the world's largest coffee and baked goods chain serving more than 3 million customers daily. There are an estimated 6,400 stores in the U.S. alone, offering more than 52 varieties of donuts--and every single donut served contains both egg and dairy products from animals forced to endure miserable conditions on today's massive and mechanized factory farms.

Please sign the petition today and tell Dunkin' Donuts to make their donuts vegan.

For more information, check out the petition site.
