Turkey-Free Thanksgiving Cooking Class

Not sure what to prepare for your vegan Thanksgiving feast? Our guest chef, Cali Mastny, has a few tips to help you keep your feast animal friendly. Join her and other aspiring cooks at Van Cleave Community Center on Monday, November 16th at 6:00 p.m. for a free lesson on vegan holiday cooking.

Not knowing how to cook or what to eat are often barriers to people looking to explore animal-friendly diets. With our comprehensive cooking classes, attendees get a chance to try a variety of foods, get information on nutrition, and have all their questions on veg eating answered--all for free.

Time: Monday, Nov 16, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Location: Van Cleve Community Center, 901 15th Ave. SE. Minneapolis, MN 55414

7th Annual Vegan Thanksgiving Potluck

Celebrate a Vegan Thanksgiving Feast with Compassionate Action for Animals! It's that time of year again! Sweet smells of cranberry jelly, mouth-watering vegan pumpkin pie, and savory Tofurky.

Enjoy delicious animal-friendly food with fun people at CAA's 7th Annual Vegan Thanksgiving Potluck. Last year's potluck was a smashing success. Over 200 people enjoyed delicious seasonal foods with no animal products. Although some food will be provided, this is a potluck, so be sure to bring a vegan (no animal products) dish/drink that can serve five to eight people.

Prepare yourself for delicious food, a prize-packed raffle, fun games, and great piano music provided by Tom Franek. Mark your calendars and invite all your friends and family!

Time: Saturday, Nov 21st from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Luxton Park Rec Center, 112 Williams Ave. SE. Minneapolis, MN 55414

A Great Opportunity to Donate to CAA

As you may recall, this summer we were offered a matching donation of $10,000, meaning that an anonymous donor would give us $10,000 dollars if we could also raise that amount. This donor has decided to extend this match for another $10,000!

Please consider making a donation to help us meet this match! Every donation you make up to $10,000 will be matched one to one. Because fundraising has been going so well, we've been thinking about some new and exciting ways we can expand the scope of our outreach. Food giveaways are a great way to reach out to a new audience. Everyone loves free food. When someone tries the tasty vegan treats we offer, it becomes much easier to talk to them about how they can change their diet to help animals.

Historically, we've only been able to do a few food giveaways each year because of the time it takes to plan them. With your generous donation, we will hire an intern this summer to coordinate our efforts, as well as purchase food and equipment. This will let us have many more food giveaways each year, introducing more people than ever to veg food. There's never been a better time to donate to CAA, so please do so today.
