Enjoy delicious animal-friendly food with fun people at CAA's 7th Annual Vegan Thanksgiving Potluck. Last year's potluck was a smashing success. Over 200 people enjoyed delicious seasonal foods with no animal products. Prepare yourself for delicious food, a prize-packed raffle, fun games, and great piano music provided by Tom Franek. Mark your calendars and invite all your friends and family!

A Great Opportunity to Donate to CAA
As you may recall, this summer we were offered a matching donation of $10,000, meaning that an anonymous donor would give us $10,000 dollars if we could also raise that amount. This donor has decided to extend this match for another $10,000!
Please consider making a donation to help us meet this match! Every donation you make will be matched one to one. Because fundraising has been going so well, we've been thinking about some new and exciting ways we can expand the scope of our outreach. Food giveaways are a great way to reach out to a new audience. Everyone loves free food. When people try the tasty vegan treats we offer, it becomes much easier to talk to them about how they can change their diets to help animals.
Historically, we've only been able to do a few food giveaways each year because of the amount of money involved. With your generous donation, however, we hope to have many more food giveaways each year, introducing more people than ever to veg food. There's never been a better time to donate to CAA, so please do so today.

Chicken Run Rescue Video
By Nikki Tundel, as printed on the Minnesota Public Radio Web site
October 22, 2009
Minneapolis - From Chicago to Houston to South Portland, Maine, the urban chicken movement has taken hold. More and more city folks are raising the birds right in their own backyards.
In the midst of this all, one Minneapolis woman has taken on the chickens' cause. Mary Britton Clouse is the founder of Chicken Run Rescue, a rehabilitation center and foster home for hens and roosters. The long-time animal advocate has found adoptive families for over 600 needy birds. A great video about this organization was recently made and is available on the Minnesota Public Radio Web site.
