March Cooking Class
Appetizers and Party Foods!
Dinner parties, birthdays, house warmings, game days, brunches... What do these all have in common? Food! Whether you are planning to host or attend one of these gatherings, Cali Mastny's March cooking class is a must for you to attend. Cali has taught previous CAA cooking classes and her dishes are always a hit with veggies and non-veggies alike.
Cali's Appetizer and Party Foods class will create a variety of veg-friendly appetizers, including classics such as spinach dip; mushroom pate phyllo triangles; and don't forget dessert with chocolate tarts (which would go great at a wine tasting party)!
Seats are limited, so register today! Tickets are only $10 a piece, and that includes food samples and recipe cards.
Time: Mar 08, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Van Cleve Community Center, 901 15th Ave SE Minneapolis, MN 55414
2nd Annual Vegan Chili Cook-Off
Warm up at the 2nd Annual Vegan Chili Cook-off! Hosted by Compassionate Action for Animals and Seward Cafe, this event is guaranteed to spice up a chilly Minnesota night. Attendees will sample a variety of delicious vegan chili recipes prepared by thirteen local cooks at this FREE event. Vegan beer and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided for washing down some spicy chili. Over 125 people attended last year's cook-off, and we expect a similar crowd again this year!
Like cooking chili? Have a secret family recipe? Then you might have what it takes to win 1st place at CAA's 2nd Annual Vegan Chili Cook-Off! Awesome animal-friendly prizes will be awarded to the top three recipes as determined by a mixture of popular vote and our expert panel of chili judges.
Contestants must bring 15 cups of prepared vegan (no animal products) chili, a list of ingredients, and a crock pot (or something without an open flame to keep your chili warm). Please note that we can only accept 13 entries. Additional details will be sent to cooks prior to the event. To register ($20 non-refundable entry fee), please visit the link below.
Time: Feb 26, 2011 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 PM
Location: Seward Cafe 2129 East Franklin Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55404
