Volunteer for the Farm to Fridge Tour
Volunteers are needed to wear our iPad shirts that will play the Farm to Fridge documentary, hand out leaflets, and talk to people about factory farming and veganism. Join us as we watch Mercy for Animals gripping new 12 minute film exposing the treatment of animals before they reach consumers' plates.
Farm to Fridge goes behind the closed doors of the nation's largest industrial poultry, pig, dairy and fish farms, hatcheries, and slaughter plants - revealing the often-unseen journey that animals make from Farm to Fridge. Using footage from undercover investigations by Mercy For Animals and other non-profit groups, Farm to Fridge shows viewers agricultural practices that are industry standard, acceptable, defended by farmers, and deemed legal in most states - yet unknown to most Americans.
There are two different showings of the movie, one in downtown during the day:
Time: May 20, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Location: 7th St. S. & Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN
and one in uptown at sundown in the evening:
Time: May 20, 2011 from 8:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
Location: Hennepin Ave. & W. Lake St., Minneapolis, MN
Dine-out at Chiang Mai Thai
From Chiang Mai Thai's website, "The food at Chiang Mai Thai is exciting and diverse. Here you can find true variety; from the aromatic and spicy street food of Northern Thailand to the Royal Cuisine of Bangkok; from the sweet, creamy curries of Southern Thailand to original creations from our own Chef Joy."
Vegan dishes are clearly marked and others can be made vegan upon request. Diners have a variety of options, from familiar and classic dishes like fried tofu and spring rolls, to the wild and daring Pad Sri Racha.
Dine-out attendees are welcome to join us afterwards with the Mercy For Animals Farm to Fridge tour.
Time: May 20, 2011 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: 3001 Hennepin Ave S., Minneapolis, MN 55408
