Have you been dreaming of dazzling your partner with a romantic dinner? Or perhaps longing to invite friends over for a seriously good dinner party? Take entertaining to a whole new level with simple culinary elegance. This Mediterranean-inspired meal will delight the palate of even the most discriminating guests. Best of all, the meal easily comes together in advance, allowing you to enjoy the evening as it unfolds.
Time: July 25, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Van Cleve Community Center, 901 15th Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN
The menu is as follows:
- Baby Greens with Red Anjou Pear and Toasted Hazelnuts
- Avocado Pesto Pasta
- Chocolate Pots du Crème
The class is free to attend and will include food samples as well as recipe cards. The class will be instructed by local culinary whiz Rachel Keranen.
A writer by trade, Rachel uses food as her universal language of choice for reaching out to friends, family and new faces. While she is best known in Minneapolis for her cookies and cinnamon rolls, she is also respected among friends for her ability to make elegant meals look effortless. She prefers using whole foods to create decadent yet healthful dishes that nourish both body and spirit.
Join us in leafleting at the Minneapolis Aquatennial on Sunday, July 17th at 11am. Sunday is one of the busiest days of the Aquatennial, including popular events such as the milk carton boat races and sandcastle contests. This event draws in people from all over and is the perfect opportunity for outreach!
Time: July 17, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Location: Thomas Beach, Lake Calhoun
Do you want to soak up the fresh summer air while it lasts? Do you enjoy picnics, parks, and hanging out with cool people? If you answered yes to any of these please join us for our Vegan After Dark movie gathering. Bring your favorite vegan snack and beverage to share. And don't forget a plate and napkin!
We will be watching Avatar in the park at dusk. Dusk sets in a little after 9:00pm, but to ensure plenty of good seating we will meet around 8:30pm.
