CAA Camping Trip 2011
Join CAA for a bike ride to the beautiful Carver Park Reserve for a night of camping, grilled tofu sandwiches, and miscellaneous outdoor adventure!
Convening at the CAA community office at 12pm on Saturday, August 20, bikers will load their stuff into a designated gear car and depart as a group for Carver Park Reserve. Carpools will be arranged for those who do not wish to bike. Following the two hour ride we will set up camp and dinner will be prepared. Grilled tofu sandwiches, "veggie packs," and other vegan grub will be provided by CAA. Vegan marshmallows, of course, will follow. Hiking, swimming, sitting, and other fantastic (but optional) outdoor activities await. We will spend the morning as we please before biking back to the CAA office around noon. A fee of $20 per person is necessary to cover the campsite and food. Checks can be made out to Compassionate Action for Animals with a note that they payment is for the 2011 Camping Trip, and sent to: PO Box 13149, Minneapolis, MN 55414.

In addition to being 100% vegan, the Ecopolitan is also a raw restaurant. And they have recently started supporting local farms by purchasing home grown produce. If anyone is interested in trying beautifully prepared raw, vegan cuisine, Ecopolitan is the place to be! They also serve wine that is sulfite free and vegan. This is gonna be amazing!

Vegan After Dark's Farewell to Danielle
Danielle Smith, Director of Volunteer Programs, is leaving us. Danielle has been an amazing director for CAA for about a year now. She has organized, lead and enhanced events and volunteers since she has started with CAA.
Danielle and I would greatly appreciate it if you joined us this Friday at Tiger Sushi in Uptown to enjoy some veg sushi (veg options are indicated with a little green bamboo sign), one of Danielle's favorite foods. This gathering will be in honor of Danielle's time at CAA, so come out and show your appreciation.
Time: August 5, 2011 from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Location: 2841 Lyndale Ave., Minneapolis, MN
We Can Help Animals
We come together as a group to advocate for animals, and it's your participation that helps animals. Every day, we see the impact of exposing the cruelties of factory farming, of challenging the status quo, and of providing the resources for people to include more plant-based foods in their diets. Your donation makes this possible. Can you give $50, $25, or $15 today?
When we talk to people while speaking at a school, handing out leaflets at a concert, or teaching a cooking class, we hear that our work has helped them reduce their consumption of animal products. Your contribution makes a real difference in the lives of animals. With your donation of $50, $25, or $15 today we will continue our vital work on behalf of farmed animals.
