Annual Banquet
Mark your calendar for our 8th Annual Banquet! Details to follow
Join Compassionate Action for Animals at our Annual Banquet, celebrating fourteen years of advocating for animals.
Focusing on action, education, and outreach to inspire respect for animals, CAA touches hundreds of human lives and saves thousands of animal lives. Through the dedicated efforts of CAA volunteers, thousands of leaflets are distributed to increase awareness of the plight of factory farm animals, hundreds of individuals pledge to try vegetarianism, social gatherings are held to bring like-minded people together, and inspirational speakers from across the country educate the public about those who cannot speak for themselves.
The event begins with a reception featuring a selection of delicious hors d'ouevres and complimentary wine. During the reception, bid at our silent auction featuring artwork, gift baskets, services from local vendors, and more.
The reception is followed by a gourmet vegan dinner. During dinner, CAA will give a short presentation on our work in 2011 and our plans for 2012.
This year's banquet will take place again Cedars Hall in northeast Minneapolis. The hall is attached to Saint Maron Church, and there is free parking to the north and west of the church. The west side parking lot is closest to the venue entrance.
- Time: Apr 05, 2012 from 05:30 PM to 09:00 PM
- Location: Cedars Hall, Saint Maron Church, 602 University Ave NE, Minneapolis
2011 Thanksgiving Potluck
Please join us for the annual Vegan Thanksgiving Potluck hosted by Compassionate Action for Animals.
This potluck will be held on Saturday, November 19th, from 2-5pm at Matthews Park Recreation Center in Minneapolis. This has been a great event in years past and is typically attended by 100-150 people. This is a vegan event, so please do not bring any food items with animal ingredients (i.e., no meat, dairy, eggs, butter or cheese). We are aiming for a combination of appetizers, fruit/veggie salads, side dishes, main courses, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages.
In consideration for those with allergies and sensitivities, please bring an ingredient list to place next to your dish on the serving table. Additionally, if you wish to enter this years raffle for animal friendly prizes, you may submit your recipe to the raffle organizer the day of the event in order to enter yourself in the raffle. Those who enter their recipe's will be eligible to win prizes in the raffle which will be held at 4pm.
Please indicate what you are bringing when you RSVP and be aware that you can update your RSVP if you later decide to bring something else. We are requesting that people bring their own plates and utensils so that we do not have to purchase paper or plastic plates and utensils. We're trying to make this event as green as possible and we will be composting at this event.
Please consider volunteering! We need a lot of help to make this event happen.
We all hope to see you there!
- Time: Nov 19, 2011 from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM
- Location: Matthews Park and Recreation, 2318 29th Ave. S Minneapolis, MN 55406
