I make a variation on this that gives me energy for hours and is quick. When I have overripe bananas I cut them into sixths and freeze them so I usually have some in the freezer. To make the shake, blend together 3 frozen banana pieces, 1/2c milk or milk alt., and 1-2 T peanut butter (depending on your activities for the day). I use my immersion blender, but a normal blender would work well too. anyway, this shake tastes awesome. A definite staple at my house. I don't eat refined sugar or choc. milk, but I will definitely try adding cocoa powder next time I make it:)
