Hello, about the TVP....

Hello. I am also a new vegetarian! I am feeling so great already about the change. Ive had so much more energy! :O) Well about the veggie protein I have no problem finding it in grocery store. For one I have found it at wal-mart in the produce area in one of the in wall refrigerator section close to the bagged salads, carrots etc... It actually is just a 14 oz. ground sausage style meat free product. The name I got is "Gimme Lean Ground Sausage Style" and in little words it then reads veggie protein. So what im trying to say is it really is a meat free sausage and even has picture of sausage on it but you know you use it as sausage or like you would have used your ground beef. Well hope I helped some and congrats on changing over to the good side ;O)))

It can be ordered from emergency essentials and they're online. I used to use their products years ago. I am going back to being a vegetarian (I missed the texture of meat, and had gained some weight over the years, and abandoned wholly vegetarian. I think because when I tried to do it years ago, EVERYTHING had to be made from scratch, there were NO products to buy at any store. I know that emergency essentials has TVP, some of it flavored (like chicken, so you might have to check to make sure and order the no animal product kind. I used some just two nights ago, and it is very good. I suffer from horrible allergies==the result no doubt of the meat and wheat in my diet. So, I am online busy gathering new recipes, and returning to good health.

It's everywhere, i promise!!

you can get TVP at wal-mart (in the frozen section usually by the breakfast items) or pick n save, and probably most grocery stores but those are the 2 i go to. its just fake ground beef, by the veggie burgers. actually, they may have some in a box in the refrigerated fresh fruits/veggie section too (right next to the lunch "meat"). ask where the veggie burgers are, and look through all the other fake meats, im sure youll find fake ground beef aka tvp. also always check health food sections of pick n save. i find meat alternatives in the health food part, as well as the regular frozen section.
