Join us for Open Streets West Broadway! We need your help in cultivating a compassionate community in Minneapolis that is informed about factory farming practices and vegan eating.

Sign up to volunteer here!

Between 11 am and 5 pm we will be passing out leaflets with information about the upcoming 2024 Twin Cities Veg Fest. We will also be working at a table with a spin wheel that has questions about animal agriculture. Passerby can spin the wheel, learn a new fact, and win candy! Afterwards, we invite them to sign a petition against factory farming in Minnesota. Pick the volunteer shift that works best for your schedule and make a big impact for animals!

Thank you for volunteering!

What is Open Streets

During Open Streets, West Broadway will be open for folks to play, eat, bike, walk, dance, sing, and more. The event is free and family-friendly.  The event covers 17 blocks on West Broadway from Lyndale to Penn and attracts over 250 participants and vendors with over 3,000 attendees.  More than a street festival, Open Streets allows neighbors to experience city streets as public spaces where communities thrive. There will be many other local organizations and vendors for you to peruse after/before your time at the CAA table.

Who can volunteer?

All are welcome to volunteer and no experience is required. If you’re passionate about animal rights and/or welfare, or about helping people move towards plant-based eating, this event is for you. We’ll support you in how to do effective outreach.

How can I sign up to volunteer?

Please sign up here for a shift and let us know if you’d like to set-up or tear-down our booth!

Support for Volunteers

We’ll reach out to you a few days prior to the event to confirm your participation and tell you where the booth will be located.  At that time we’ll introduce you to the staff leading the event. You’ll get their cell phone number in case anything comes up day-of.

At the event, we’ll make sure you get a chance to know the staff and other volunteers participating in outreach. There will be snacks, water, and sunscreen available for volunteers during the event. If passerby have detailed questions about CAA that you can’t answer, you can always refer them to the staff member alongside you at the event.

Will I hear from you after volunteering at the event?

Yes! The staff leading the event will reach out to thank you and tell you about the event’s impact. We want you to know about the difference you made as a result of volunteering with us.
