Keeping Up with Coco and Lala

Join us for two fabulous classes that will help you get started with plant-based cooking during the Anoka-Hennepin School District’s Community Wellness Day.

Both classes and the entire Wellness Day are offered free of charge. The classes are intended for those new to, or curious about, veg living. Please register only if you fit that description or plan to attend with someone who does. Invite those you know who’d be interested on Facebook.

10 am to 10:45 am Keeping Up with Coco and Lala –– Coco and Lala, Minneapolis-based Facebook cooking show hosts and KMOJ The Ice radio personalities, will present easy, family-friendly plant-based recipes and delicious samples. Compassionate Action for Animals staff will provide information on additional resources for transitioning to a plant-based diet, and the Humane Society of the United States-MN will provide additional recipes to take home and try. Register for this class here.

11:15 am to 11:45 am Pick Your Produce –– Learn how to pick and prepare the perfect produce with Nathan Huerkamp. Nathan works at J. Selby’s and grew up cooking from scratch, learning to bake, can, and dehydrate food at an early age. He’s done cooking demonstrations at various food co-ops, farmer’s markets, and on a local foods segment at KARE11. Register for this class here.

Volunteers are needed to help with supply transportation, event check-in, photography, staffing our information table in the exhibit hall, and distributing samples and information. Please sign up here and contact Laura Matanah at laura@exploreveg.org if you have questions.
