Location
Plaza in front of Coffman Union
Join CAA’s University of Minnesota student leaders, University students, Lady Freethinker, The Animal Rights Coalition, Feline Rescue, and other concerned community members to deliver over 36,000 petition signatures opposing deadly kitten experiments at the University of Minnesota. We’ll let the University of Minnesota president know that these tests, and all experiments on animals, must come to an end.
You can view and sign the petition here.
The kitten experiments cost 9 million taxpayer dollars and resulted in no benefits to humans, according to government records obtained by Lady Freethinker, the organization that led the investigation. The petitions were already sent electronically to the President’s office. The President declined to make any commitment to ending these cruel experiments. As a result, students and community members are now bringing the petitions in-person.
We’ll meet in front of Coffman Memorial Union at 3:45pm. Just before 4pm we’ll walk across the bridge to Morrill Hall to deliver the petitions to the president’s office. Posters and signs will be provided. You can also bring your own.
