Help students in the Twin Cities learn about animal protection and veganism! Provide vegan food samples at Century College in White Bear Lake on Friday, April 19 from 8:50 to 9:40am and April 20 from 9:30 to 10:45am. We’ll be providing simple, vegan food samples for about thirty students during a classroom presentation, and we need your help.
Bridges of Respect is honored to be invited into classrooms at dozens of local schools. Join us and check out the way we introduce animal protection issues in an average classroom. Presentations deliver a lot of information in a learning environment, and vegan food samples help to make it an exceptionally persuasive experience. We need volunteer support to make this possible.
For more information or if you would like to volunteer, email Shannon Kimball at [email protected]
The Bridges of Respect, CAA’s humane education program, has served the Twin Cities region since 1999 by building bridges between people and other species through educational outreach. This program conveys values of responsibility, mercy, and empathy toward animals while encouraging students to become more involved in the community. Objectives in the classroom include:
- Teaching critical and creative thinking
- Delivering up-to-date, research-based information
- Acting as an ethical role model
- Providing quality resources for students and teachers
Most presentations are requested by middle schools, high schools, and college classrooms or at public events. Presentations are adjusted to fit age groups and to meet specific curricular needs. Learn more at bridgesofrespect.org.
