Join us for video outreach at the Twin Cities Pride Festival. We’ll be paying passerby one dollar to watch a five-minute video about factory farming via either tablet or virtual reality. You can view all of the available volunteer positions and sign up here!

Virtual reality outreach gives people the chance to experience life on a factory farm from a pig’s point of view. Wearing the VR equipment, participants have clear audio and a 360-degree view of the pig’s surroundings.

Pay-per-view (via video on tablets) outreach gives viewers the chance to see undercover footage of life for cows, pigs, chickens and fish as they are raised commercially.

Outreach volunteers either invite people to try one of these experiences or help set them up with the equipment and then have a supportive conversation with them afterwards. The vast majority of participants express gratitude and the desire to help make a difference in farmed animals’ lives. You’ll get to help them to do that by inviting them to eat animal-free diets. You can check our Advocacy Etiquette and Frequently Asked Questions for answers to questions you’ll likely hear. In addition to outreach volunteers, we also need photographers and folks to haul supplies. If you would like to volunteer for this outreach opportunity, sign up now. Email info@exploreveg.org with any questions.

CAA will be at booth O105 in the orange section — in between Pet Central and the dog park. (You can see a map of the festival here.)
