Owamni, Compassionate Action for Animals, and the Event
The evening will feature a presentation on Owamni’s vision, philosophy and history from Owamni staff. Owami features indigenous food, flavor, and culture. Their decolonized approach avoids dairy, wheat flour, cane sugar, beef, chicken & pork — colonial foods introduced and not originally from this land. They prioritize purchasing from Indigenous food producers first, while supporting the region’s amazing and diverse local food growers.
All ticket purchases support the work of Compassionate Action for Animals (CAA). We are a local non-profit best known as the organizers of Twin Cities Veg Fest, and the Twin Cities Vegan Chef Challenge. In addition we are recognized for raising awareness of, and action around, the treatment of Minnesota’s farmed animals. CAA is currently supporting this petition against farm animal cruelty, and we urge you to sign it if you have not already.
There will be plenty of time during the evening to enjoy conversation with fellow guests. The evening will conclude with information on CAA’s upcoming events and work.
