Join this family-friendly celebration sponsored by the Jain Center of Minnesota. The event will feature a presentation from Laura Matanah, CAA’s executive director, on animal compassion.

The event will feature vegan Indian food prepared by community members, a silent auction, henna, face-painting, games, and merchandise sales.

The celebration will take place at the Hindu Temple of Minnesota, a beautiful place of worship which is the largest Hindu temple in North America. You can see photos of the space here.

Admission is free! There will be optional opportunities to make donations for food and activities. All proceeds will go to benefit animal serving non-profits, including CAA. All ages are welcome. Bring your friends and family.  Please pre-register here.  Registration by March 28 is appreciated.

Presentation on animal compassion and veganism: (4:00 to 5:00 pm)

Get to know more about animal compassion and veganism.  Ask any health and wellness questions directly to experienced practitioners from the Jain Center of Minnesota (JCM) community and expert guests including Laura Matanah, CAA Executive Director.

Family fun activities: (4:30 to 7:30 pm)

  • Henna
  • Face painting
  • Kids and adult games
  • Various booths to visit
    • JCM Bookstall for books from JCM Library
    • Creative Minds of JCM Booth – Showcasing Jain and Vegan culture
    • Veganism Booth – JCM Youth Committee

Optional devotional activities (Aarti & Mangal Divo): (5:00 PM to 5 :30 pm)

Food Village: (5:30 to 7:30pm)

Delicious ethnic Jain Vegan food options are available in the “Food Village.” Food is available for purchase at minimal price ($2 to $4).

Silent Basket Auction

The JCM Youth Committee has planned a “Silent Basket Auction” during this event. You can support animal causes through donating/bidding.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to animal compassion organizations, including CAA.

The Jain Center of Minnesota is a long time supporter of CAA’s work. One of the community’s leading figures, Neena Gada, recently passed away. You can learn more about her life here.
