1:30pm - 3:30pm

Location
Powderhorn Recreation Center

Join us for another edition of Tea, Cookies, & Conversation. This time, we’ll be talking about how we can get through (and maybe even enjoy!) the holidays with friends and family who may not understand our vegan ethics.

  • How can you take care of yourself as the only vegan at the holiday dinner table?
  • How do you talk to your family and friends about your plant-based diet?
  • What do you say when your asked why you’re vegan?
  • How do you share your ethical beliefs without coming off as “preachy” or angry?
  • How do you manage all of these intense conversation topics and still enjoy the holidays?

Are there other questions related to this subject that you’d like to discuss? Let us know and we’ll try to include it in the conversation.

CAA offers Tea, Cookies, and & Conversation a few times a year as an opportunity for our community to come together to have fun, informative, and focused discussions about topics that are important to those involved in the animal protection movement. We welcome everyone along the spectrum of moving towards a plant-based diet. Whether you’re just curious, new to the path or a longtime vegan, each of us has something to learn and something to share.

The discussion will be facilitated by AmyLeo Barankovich of Claim Humane (veganaffairsmn.com) and Justin Leaf, Communications & Events Coordinator for CAA.

RSVP on the Facebook event page or email Justin at justin@exploreveg.org.

We will be meeting in the multi-purpose room at the Powderhorn Recreation Center. We encourage all participants to arrive by 1:30pm. The first 15 minutes will be for getting settled with tea and cookies. Introductions will begin at 1:45, at which point the room will be closed to newcomers.

A variety of teas and vegan cookies will be provided. If you’d like to bake a batch of vegan cookies for the event, please let us know.
