Old School Chili

Ingredients:

  • An onion
  • Some garlic cloves
  • A few hot peppers
  • Oil
  • A big can diced tomatoes
  • A can of tomato paste
  • 4 cans of random beans, rinsed
  • Half to whole package of frozen veggie crumbles
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper (1 tbs)
  • Chili powder (1-3 tbs)
  • Cayenne powder

Directions:

  1. Sauté onions with garlic cloves, hot peppers and oil until onions are translucent.
  2. Add canned tomatoes, tomato paste, canned beans, crumbles, water, salt, pepper, chili powder and cayenne powder.
  3. Simmer for about an hour, stirring regularly, then throw in a handful of frozen corn, and some sautéed or canned drained mushrooms.
  4. Remove from heat. Enjoy!
