CAA Call to Action – September 19, 2017

Did we mention how amazing you are? Truly, CAA could not accomplish nearly so much without its team of dedicated volunteers. Thanks for all you do for the animals.

To everyone who volunteered at Twin Cities Veg Fest, thank you for being a part of the team and for helping to make the festival a huge success.

Our next big event is the 15th Annual Vegan Thanksgiving Potluck on Saturday, November 11. We need planning committee members for that. Sign up now!

Also, look forward to a new format for the next edition of the volunteer newsletter. That’ll go out on October 3.

Best wishes,

Justin Leaf, Communications & Events Coordinator

CAA Call to Action – July 11, 2017

Heads upTwin Cities Veg Fest is just two months away! There’s many ways you can help make this year’s festival a big success.

First, we’ve just launched our Twin Cities Veg Fest fundraiser, and we need your help with getting the word out. We’re trying to raise $12,000 by August 9. The first $6,000 will be matched by a group of generous donors.

Please share this Facebook post and tell your friends what the festival means to you. Ask them to donate and be sure to give them this link: https://tinyurl.com/TCVF17.

Of course, you’re also welcome to make a contribution if you have a few dollars to to spare. Every bit helps us reach our goal.

This year as we take the festival outside to Como Park, we’re very fortunate to have an amazingly enthusiastic and dedicated planning committee led by volunteer Torie Meltzer. They’re doing an awesome job putting things together, but now we really need all of you to get involved. Here are some of the ways you can help out:

  • Support the fundraiser! Make a donation and/or encourage your friends to donate.
  • Volunteer at the festival! A list of volunteer positions and the sign-up form are coming soon.
  • RSVP and invite friends to the festival using the Facebook event page.
  • Follow us on social media and share everything about the festival.

Together, we can make our first-ever outdoor Twin Cities Veg Fest a fantastic success. And meanwhile, we’ve got a number of other upcoming events that need your volunteer support. Scroll down for all the details.

Best wishes,

Justin Leaf, Communications & Events Coordinator

Thanks to everyone who helped with outreach at the Pride festival! With your generous contributions of time and energy, we were able to reach hundreds of people with a message of compassion, planting seeds of awareness that will grow into the actions that ultimately help animals.

Coming up, we need volunteers for the July picnic potluck on Sunday, July 2. This special event is co-hosted by Animal Rights Coalition and will be a great opportunity to get to know others in the community. Sign up now!

Also, thanks to dedicated volunteers Julie Knopp and Mike Resch, we’ve got a whole bunch of leafleting opportunities scheduled throughout the summer. Sign up today to take action for animals through one or more of these upcoming outreach events.

CAA Call to Action – May 16, 2017

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out with our most recent events, including outreach at Cinco de Mayo and at the MayDay Festival, as well as at the Vegan Pancake Feed-In last Saturday. Through your efforts, more people are learning about the problems with animal agriculture and how they can make more compassionate food choices. Thank you for that!

Our next big outreach opportunity is at the Pride Festival, which will be the last weekend in June. Sign up now if you’re interested in helping out with that. Pride is a perfect place for effective outreach. In a relatively short amount of time, we can reach lots of people who are very receptive to our message.

In other news, we’ve just shared a summary of where we our with our strategic planning process. Check it out and stay tuned to what’s happening behind the scenes.

Also, we want to be sure you know about the Animal Rights National Conference near Washington, D.C., August 3 to 6. This annual conference is an opportunity to network with others in the movement, and it’s also a place to develop your skills as an effective animal advocate. Register today!

Best wishes,

Justin Leaf, Communications & Events Coordinator

Quick & Easy Social Media Support

  • Please visit CAA’s Facebook event pages and invite your Facebook friends. Facebook limits how many people an individual can invite to events, so we need help to get the word out. Here’s how:
    • Go to the event page.
    • Click the “Share” tab.
    • Click “Invite friends.”
    • Using discretion, choose friends who would be most interested in the event, and invite them. (*Note that some of our events are great for people who are new to CAA. Examples of these events would be potlucks, dine outs, Twin Cities Veg Fest, and the Vegan Chili Cook-Off. Other events, especially volunteer opportunities, are more appropriate for those who are already involved with CAA or have otherwise shown interest in animal protection issues.)
