Celebrate our 21st with a Delicious Vegan Feast!

We’re turning 21, and you’re invited to celebrate these years of advocating for animals with some amazing vegan food!

Join us at the Clarence W. Wigington Pavilion at Harriet Island Park on Saturday, March 23 for Drake’s Drinks Celebrating 21 Years of Compassionate Action for Animals and enjoy a delicious vegan dinner catered by Gorkha Palace, an organic restaurant specializing in conscientiously prepared Indian, Nepali and Tibetan foods. And since it’s CAA’s 21st birthday, there will also be three vegan-certified cocktails from Drake’s Organic Spirits and cupcakes from Vegan East. You won’t want to miss this!

Now for the specifics…

Everyone loves samosas! Image via Gorkha Palace.

You’ll begin the evening connecting with others at the reception and savoring a choice of cocktail created by Drake’s Drinks or non-alcoholic options. During this time you’ll get to nibble on samosas, Gorkha Palace’s famous momos, and bhatmaas, a roasted soynut salad with chopped tomatoes, onions, and cilantro, and bid on a fascinating array of items, with proceeds benefiting our work for the animals.

Then you’ll be seated for the gourmet dinner. This year’s dinner by Gorkha Palace will be served buffet-style and will include:

  • Channa Saag, a dish made with organic chickpeas, potatoes, and spinach cooked in an organic tomato onion sauce with spices
  • Mixed Vegetable Curry, made with organic carrots, zucchini, bell peppers, cauliflower, potatoes, peas, and basil simmered in tomato onion sauce with a dash of coconut milk
  • Aaaloo Bhindi, or potatoes and okra lightly sautéed with tomatoes, scallions, garlic, and ginger
  • Coconut Rice Pudding

Note that the entire dinner menu is vegan and gluten-free, except for the vegan momos, veggie samosa, and cupcakes, which contain gluten.

If your mouth is already watering, reserve your tickets today! For this gourmet vegan dinner and reception (including three drink tickets), the cost is $68 per person. Enjoy this one-of-a-kind culinary experience and support Compassionate Action for Animals as we continue into the next 21+ years of advocating for animals.

The event will also include an inspiring presentation. Bring your friends and family with as you enjoy a special evening with our compassionate community.
