Dear prospective board member,
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of Board of Directors for Compassionate Action for Animals! We are in need of resourceful, energetic individuals who are excited about our goal of promoting veganism and highlighting the plight of farmed animals.
Being a board member is not a glamorous position but it is essential for CAA’s success. The Board of Directors is responsible for the organization’s financial well-being and accountability, ensuring that our activities are consistent with our mission, and the oversight, including hiring and firing, of paid staff for the organization. As a board member, you are expected to promote the organization and help with fund-raising. However, the board is not responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization.
The board meets once every other month. You will also be expected to participate in other occasional activities such as fundraisers, board subcommittees, participation in email discussions, and board retreats when they occur. Board members are strongly encouraged to make a three year commitment, as this helps us ensure an experienced and capable board.
Prospective board members should start by attending and participating in at least one board meeting. There is also a short questionnaire that should be filled out and sent to email@example.com. All applicants will be notified within one month of receiving your questionnaire. You may be accepted, rejected, or asked to attend more board meetings first. Please feel free to contact any CAA board member with questions about the organization or serving on the Board of Directors.
Thank you for your interest in CAA, we look forward to having you join us as a board member.
